I installed the code for my collapsible sidebar on here… perhaps a bit prematurely… I dunno…

I havent fully tested it yet, but the sidebar seems to work right… evrything with a handle can still be dragged to reorder the sidebar… but now you should be able to collapse each item as well… the contents should drop out and go away on the first click… then fade back in on the second click… blind up and down when you click the little toggle switch to the right of the handle.

the page should then remember both the position that item was in… and if the box was collapsed or not.

test it out and let me know if it works please.

sIFRtitles_logo.jpg

v0.2 Upgrade makes plugin work with titles containing ampersands and works better for people who are not using mod_rewrite for their urls. Also fixes IE ActiveX lawsuit problems with embed.

Heres the sIFR plugin I promised… It shouldnt be too confusing to install… the only potentially tricky parts are if people really wanna change the flash file…

Ive included the source FLA to make editing it really easy… Please read the comments in the FLA though… there a few really important points.

Anyway… for those of you who dont know what sIFR is… check out the original post I made: Flash Titles Like This One

For those of you who want the plugin and source files…

Downloads:

  • v0.1 Is available HERE
  • v0.2 is now available. I reccomend you upgrade. Download HERE

Please comment if you like… post a link to where you are using it so I can check it out… and if you have any problems that you think may be a bug… post a comment about it.

Read on for install/upgrade instructions: (more…)

Fleshh It Plugin Logo“Fleshh It” detects links coming in from Fleshh.com to your blog posts and displays links back to Fleshh so people can vote for you. If there is no link detected, the link will be “Submit to Fleshh” - Fleshh.com is NSFW!

Current Version is v0.5
Prettymuch the same as 0.4 but added a new option… Can now “Submit to Fleshh” if no existing fleshh post is detected.

Major changes were in v0.4

If you have an earlier version installed then download this one and read the whole readme before you install the new version… You should prolly uninstall the old completely and then install this one.

All problems are fixed and it works great!

Downloads:

  • Download it HERE
  • v0.2 Actually Works! Download it HERE see the readme for what I fixed.
  • v0.4 Sweet! Download it here! Read Readme before installing or upgrading.
  • v0.5 Download it here! New Feature! Read Readme before installing or upgrading.

Usage details are now in the readme. They are important so check it out.

Read a little old info on this plugin… Ive removed most of it though and put it in the readme. Check out the comments for updates… please post bugs there if you find em.

Ok… since Im still working on it… one would expect a few bugs in the sidebar…

The current bug isnt really a bug at all… I havent written the code yet to handle problems created whan I add a new sidebar item and a users cookie doesnt recognise it… this results in big ugly errors in the sidebar.

For now if this happens… scroll down and click on the “Reset order to default” link then refresh…. this will clear the cookie and let it rebuild the sidebar to get rid of errors.

So I was looking at the pligg forums the other day and found a post on sIFR in pligg templates. (Scalable Inman Flash Replacement) Which is pretty much just using flash to display things in a page so you can controll style and whatnot better. (the post by Yankidank linked to this site for more info and examples)

Anyway I figure this would be pretty cool for wordpress so I made my own little test file to see how well it worked out… (more…)

So I used a mixture of scripaculous and some original javascript and php to make a section of the sidebar have draggable elements.

the cool part is that it sets a cookie that remembers where you put everything…

Im still in the process of making it easy for others to add to their themes… maybe I can figure out how to make it a plugin for WP2.0… we shall see…
